How Much Do Pottery Classes Cost in Barcelona? [2026 Guide]
A pottery class in Barcelona can cost anywhere from 20 to over 100 euros per session, depending on the type of class, the duration, and what is included. In this article we share real 2026 prices so you can compare and choose with clear information. We are writing from our studio in La Barceloneta.
The price range in Barcelona
If you search for "pottery class Barcelona" you will find a wide range of prices. One-off experience workshops (Airbnb Experiences, tourist activities) typically cost between 50 and 100 euros for a 2-3 hour session. Regular classes at local studios run between 20 and 40 euros per hour. And monthly courses with a fixed spot go from 100 to 180 euros per month.
Price differences do not always reflect quality. They often come down to group size, location, whether materials are included, and the target audience.
Types of classes and prices at La Mesa
At La Mesa we offer several options, each designed for a different stage:
Drop-in Class — from 2 hours, at EUR 20/hour. The most flexible option: come whenever you want, no commitment. You can choose between hand-building or wheel throwing. Great if you want to try pottery, if you are visiting Barcelona, or if your schedule does not allow a fixed class.
Weekly Class — EUR 120/month (2 hours per week). A fixed spot in a regular group. This is for anyone who wants to learn properly, week by week, with real guidance. You can choose between hand-building and wheel throwing, with several time slots available.
Flex Workshop — EUR 120 for 8 hours. Book your sessions whenever suits you, no fixed day. Designed for people with irregular schedules who want to progress at their own pace.
Intro to the Wheel — EUR 90 (2 sessions of 2 hours each). A mini-course covering the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Centering, opening, pulling up, basic shapes. Perfect if the wheel calls to you but you do not know where to start.
What is included?
This is an important detail, because not all studios work the same way. Some places charge separately for clay, glazes, and kiln firings. By the time you add it all up, the final bill can be quite a bit higher than expected.
At La Mesa all materials are included in the price: high-fire clay, tools, glazes, and firings (bisque and glaze). There are no hidden costs or surprises. The price you see is the price you pay. Our studio is in La Barceloneta, at Carrer de l'Atlàntida 47.
How to choose based on your goals
Complete beginner: A drop-in class is the best way in. Two hours, no pressure, with someone guiding you step by step. If you enjoy it, move to the weekly class. If not, you have only spent a couple of hours.
Want to learn seriously: The weekly class gives you consistency, a regular group, and real follow-up. This is where you make the most progress, because pottery rewards repetition and patience.
Visiting or have an irregular schedule: The drop-in class or flex workshop give you total flexibility. Book when you can, show up with no strings attached.
Interested in the wheel: Start with the Intro to the Wheel. Two focused sessions to learn the basics. After that you can continue with drop-in or weekly wheel classes.
